Basement conversion in chic modern Maida Vale terraced house. The owners of this property wanted to bring light into this home which was originally a place of darkness. It literally felt as though you had walked into the basement, which naturally you had. It was dark, lacking personality and character and felt cold for all the obvious reasons you would expect with a basement property.

Omniworks design were enlisted as the project managers for this renovation project, due to their fantastic portfolio and proven skills in design. They offer design and build services and have a credible history of fulfilling the clients needs with a gallery of beautifully designed homes. No build or interior design project is too big or too small for their attention.

It was a necessity to have a fire suppression system with such a design, due to the open plan layout we had opted for. We were informed by Omniworks design of the options that were available and we opted for a water mist system as we thought this was the best option available to us for our newly stylishly designed home.

Open plan layout enabled with Automist fire suppression. A fire risk assessor was booked in to assess our property and give us advice as to what we would need in order to be compliant with the local authority's building control specifications and building regulations once we had floor plans drafted with our open plan layout.

Our design needs were relayed to the fire risk assessor and the building control officer from Assent Building Control, an independent, corporate building control approved inspector and assessor. We were able to have the design we wished for with a total compartment application system, once we had the sign off from the building control officer, works were started and an installer of the fire suppression system was drafted in enabling us to be compliant with the needs of such a design.
