London N1 – Side & Rear Extension

How did the project come together?

Uncover the story behind this open plan project

Stage 1:

Preparing the concept design

This rear and side extension was to enable a larger living space as per the clients requirements. The lower floor created access to the garden area and an open plan kitchen and lounge. The upper level allowed for an additional bathroom featuring a shower, with lots of light filling each of these areas.

Stage 2:

Defining the layout

Due to the nature of the design featuring an open staircase, open plan kitchen and lounge on the lower ground floor, requirements for building control sign off needed to be met. Assent Building Control were the private inspectors used in this instance. They offer a great service and are very professional in their approach. We were advised that a fire suppression system was need to satisfy building regulations and Assent Building Control guided us through the requirements with confidence and the right advice.

Stage 3:

Building Control Sign off

Due to the open plan kitchen and lounge area, a fire suppression system was needed, Automist was the ideal and modern solution allowing for design freedom whilst not compromising on fire safety.

Stage 4:

Transformation Complete

Automist fixed wall head, plate mounted, fire suppression system was installed, using a recommended accredited re-seller installer who are fuly trained to the highest standards fby the manufacturer of Automist themselves, Plumis.
